Session Information

Prior to the first session, Deanna will consult with your veterinarian to discuss your concerns regarding your horse and will request authorization from your veterinarian to proceed with massage therapy.   It is important that your veterinarian is consulted so that the massage does not conflict with any current medical care he/she may be receiving.  The goal is for a team approach in the best overall care.

The first session will likely take a bit longer, approximately 2 hours.  During the first session, Deanna will do a complete evaluation of your horse and take a health history.  The evaluation will cover range of motion, movement with and without a saddle, size and development of muscles and saddle fit.  By completing this thorough evaluation, she can then customize a massage session for your horse.  The evaluation and history takes about an hour.  After the evaluation, a custom full body massage session will be completed, lasting about an hour.

Subsequent sessions will include a brief evaluation, followed by a custom full body massage.

You will receive a written session evaluation after each appointment.  Deanna will be glad to offer/demonstrate helpful stretching techniques.
